I just got back from the midnight showing of The Dark Knight and all I can say is WOW. It was amazing. Having said that, there was a part in the middle that I thought dragged a little bit, the scenes with the blue 3-D sonar vision thing kinda gave me a headache, and there was a lot of spinning. But all these are more than forgiven.

I know a lot of people are talking about Heath Ledger and for good reason. His portrayal of the Joker was incredible. He completely bowled over Jack Nicholson's Joker 100 fold. A lot of people see Nicholson's Joker as iconic, but Ledger's is epic. It was scary, I mean really fucking scary. I'm still half expecting the Joker to jump out of a dark corner.

As for the rest of the movie, there are funny moments, intense moments, sad moments, moments that piss you off, moments that make you extremely happy (Gary Oldman, I'm looking in your direction for the latter three!). It takes you up, brings you down, and makes you never want it to end. Even if your knees hurt a little and your butt is almost numb.

The action scenes are amazing and there are parts that just make you hold your breath. Although one of these moments makes you hold it for a bit too long. But whatever, it doesn't matter. What matters is the absolute scope of this movie. It goes beyond the comic, the cartoon, the old series, and definitely the old movies.

This is hands down my favorite sequel ever. It seriously goes above and beyond most of the movies I've seen.

So, it's the fourth, yay! I had to work a nine hour shift today, not cool. Plus, I cut my finger pretty bad the other day and had to go to the after hours clinic. I didn't get stitches, but I did get my finger glued back together!! Pretty cool, huh? So I can't type a whole lot. Just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!! And I no some people are going to whine and cry about the Zetterberg goal, but hey, if it goes in, it goes in. The Pens got a goal off Kronwall, so suck it up.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! You guys are killing me! Yep, I just had a stroke. One minute. FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!! I'm dying, I'm going to die! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! I just peed myself. Whew.

Well, Wings lost, but at least now there's a chance for Detroit to win the cup in Detroit. That's what I want most. Just like last time.

My internet is retarded, it keeps messing up and saying there's no signal strength. It already kicked me off AIM and won't let me back on (sorry, Goose! Loves!) So to pass time and cheer myself up I decided to make a new header. Iron Man

So I took my mom to go see Iron Man today as a sort of early Mother's Day treat. Seems pretty easy, right? WRONG!

It started out with me getting out of work at 3:30 and I got home at around 4, well the movie started at 4:30. Wouldn't you know it, every slow jackass in the state just had to drive in front of us. So by the time we got there we were about 10 minutes late. So we got into the theater and the movie was already going, so we sat down. It seemed like the movie jumped into the action crazy fast, Robert Downey, Jr was already in his "iron" suit flying around. I thought it was really odd, but the movie was still really good so I just sat and watched. About half hour or so later when Iron Man and the villain had already started fighting I remembered that there was a showing that started at 3:15. It wasn't until the movie ended barely and hour after we got there that I realized we had gone into the wrong theater.

So, we went next door to the theater that had started showing Iron Man at 4:30. Obviously, by the time we got there it was far past the beginning of the film, but we finally got filled in on a bunch of stuff that had happened at the middle of the movie that we hadn't seen (like the bad guy was a business partner of Tony Stark). I realized that the theater we had just left would once again be showing Iron Man at 6pm. So what did we do? When the movie got to the part we had come into before (Iron Man reeking havoc on nasty terrorists in a remote village in the Middle East) we decided to go back to the theater we were in before to (finally!) catch the beginning of the movie.

This time we were actually 5 minutes early. We got to watch the previews and everything. And we finally got to watch all the way through the entire movie, beginning to end! Let me tell you, even after all that hassle, it was so worth it! I love that movie. I need to find some caps so I can icon it. Loved it!

Go Red Wings!!!! They won again today 4-2 against Nashville. They lead the series 2-0!! I won't say they are definitely going to win the Cup because I don't want to jinks them, so I'm just going to think it really loudly.

I'm so tired of my job already. It's not that I really hate it, it's just that time physically seems to slow down whenever I'm at work. Plus my schedule is always wacky, so one day I get to sleep in and the next (like Monday) I have to be in at 8 am. Somehow I need to get a job where I don't have to do anything. People get paid for that, right? The only good thing about going in early is that I get out early. I have a ton of homework to do, I really need to start on my Commonplace book (don't ask what it is, because I don't even really know). Plus I have two papers that are do the week after next and finals are the week after that. At least once finals are done I might actually have a day off!

As for my Josh/Casey fics, I have about 4 of them, one that's finished. I'm going to try to get them typed up and posted over at josh_casey_dt.

I just realized I have no Wings icons, this must be remedied. One day I'll get the chance to make a huge icon post again. But that probably won't happen anytime soon.

Okay, I'm gonna nerd it up now and watch Empire Strikes Back. Damn you, Spike! Damn you for airing the entire Star Wars saga!!

So me and Valanie (prongs_padfoot) went to The Electric Chair in Clio last night. She got her lip pierced and I got my second tattoo. This time it hurt like a bitch. I got it on my back so every time it got near my shoulder blades it really hurt, but it tickled when it got to my spine. Strange, huh? I'll post pics later, too lazy right now. And I want to watch some Boondock Saints (yays for sequel!!).

Okay, so apparently I should listen to my brother Eric more often. He told me not to bother with the movie "Atonement" and boy should I have listened to him. First off, most boring 2 hours ever. Secondly, I felt no connection at all with any of the characters. Third, the plot was so simple I'm not entirely sure how they made it go past 20 minutes, let alone 2 hours. In a nutshell: girl has crush on guy, guy is more interested in girl's older sister, girl gets pissy and screws over guy and sister.

I'm reading on IMDB that "Atonement" is one of those movies that make you think. Yeah, not really. It's one of the simplest plots I've seen in a movie. Seriously, if we were talking about this movie in one of my English classes it would take us about ten minutes. Pretty much the only thing worth talking about is the ending, and not even really that. The girl (an old woman at the end) wrote a book about how bad she fucked up and in the book she gave the people she screwed over a happy ending. Yeah, that's it. That's the end of the movie. She writes a book to make herself feel better about totally fucking up her own sister's life.

Don't bother watching it. It's terrible. Really, just awful. The cinematography is beautiful and the acting isn't half bad, but the plot just totally destroys it. I've seen better plots on episodes of Power Rangers. Someone would seriously have to pay me to watch it again. And I mean a lot of money, too.

So, congratulations, "Atonement," you've joined the list of movies that I will never, ever, ever, ever watch again.

I'm so screwed if zombies attack. And that's not even taking into account if they're zompires. In that case, I'm going to find Will Smith.

So, I'm getting another tattoo. I put in the deposit today and me and Valanie are going Friday night. Then we're going to watch some slash. On Saturday we're going to get totally drunk. But don't expect to have a drunk post like last time because the place we're going to be doesn't have wireless, they do have internet, though, so we might be able to hook up to it. One way or another, we're getting drunk.

I'm going to be so broke after this weekend, but whatever. I start working at Home Depot on Monday the 31st so I'll be getting more money. I'm still looking around for a place of my own. I've found a few places I like and the payments would be fair. But I'm only looking at foreclosed houses because they're so cheap. The only problem is getting a loan to pay for one.

I just can't wait to move out. I seriously want that more than anything right now. It's getting real hard to put up with everything. All the talking, the constant talking, the constant loud talking. It's the way I imagine people feel when they want a divorce :P You know, when they love a person, but they just can't stand to be around them any more and they would get along with them better if they were apart. That's exactly what it's like. I'm so ready to just be able to sit and watch TV or write a paper or read a book without someone in the background talking to themselves very loudly so that I can't concentrate.

If you still love me even though I'm a terrible person (I can't help it if Jesus and Judas kiss in the movie Judas and I enjoy when two men kiss!) than please help me move the hell out of here! Another rant. I'm so moving out, I can't stand it anymore. I love my mom and all but she's driving me fucking crazy. I can't do it any more. I've tried and tried and I can't. Blah blah blah. I'm so sick of this shit. OH MY GOD!!! She's over there right now talking waaaaay too loud. You know how some people talk to themselves in whispers, yeah she doesn't. She talks to herself loudly, like she's talking to someone across the room.

Goose, if you read this, I'm really sorry. She was just pissing me off. I wasn't mad at you or anything, I just wanted her to shut the fuck up.

Like she's anyone to tell someone to stop talking on the damn phone. It makes me so fucking pissed. Seriously, she's on the phone all goddamn day. I'm not even kidding. She comes home, talks to me for about 10 minutes and then talks on the phone for the next five or six hours. And then yells at me for talking on the phone 10 minutes before it turns to our "free calls after 7pm" time.

I've been going crazy since about November and I just can't take it anymore. I really can't. I almost want to cry it's driving me crazy. So yeah I think I'm going to move out. Now I have a job so I'm thinking it's way past time.

And today had been such a good day.

Lost-Forum rant

Okay, rant time. The mods over at Lost-Forum are idiots. And if I post this there I'll probably be banned, so I'm going to do it here. Actually, I'm really starting to not care if I get banned. I've been there longer than most of those mods and it pisses me off they think they're all high and mighty. Anyway, here's the quote:

"IF IT HASN'T AIRED ON US TELEVISION DURING THE EPISODE - It IS a Spoiler! IE: A name DOES NOT EQUAL aired on TV. Maybe you're paying attention to the credits, and that's GREAT FOR YOU,"

That doesn't make sense on several levels. How can a name that AIRED ON TELEVISION not equal aired on television? It's part of the opening credits, which air on television in front of the whole world, and it has been for what? Six weeks? Not to mention the name itself aired on the episode being talked about.

If you don't know, I'm talking about Harold Perrineau's return to Lost. His name has been in the opening credits of the show, which play over the beginning of the episode, just after the first commercial break. The character he plays, Michael, has yet to actually show up, however.

Here's the kicker, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lidelof, the show runners, and notorious for keeping spoilers under wraps, have publicly stated that the actor and the character are returning. Now I can get it being a spoiler despite this, maybe people didn't hear that. But, come on, when the name appears in credits and the whole thread knows who is being talked about, it's a bit absurd to get that worked up about it.

I myself am a mod over at glitch_wyatt and thankfully we have not had problems involving spoilers because the mini-series has already aired in the US. But if it were turned into a series and once that series was going and a name of an actor showed up in the credits, but not the actor themself on the show, I would have no problem with it being mentioned. To me, it's a waste of time and energy getting so upset over such a little thing.

Having said that, I'll digress. I feel much better after ranting. And should the mods from L-F read this and have something to say, go for it. But guess what? It's my LJ and I can ban anyone I want from it. How do you like them apples?

EDIT: Wow, I was really drunk last night. I don't even remember the entire episode, I had to re-watch it. But it was freaking awesome. And Michael really did look hot. He's either Teyla's baby daddy or he's just going to steal Teyla's baby. Also, CARSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!! I just watched "Sunday" and I cried so hard so it was really good to see him again.
